SYMPOSIUM ON SCIENCE AND STEWARDSHIP
TO PROTECT AND SUSTAIN WILDERNESS VALUES


The Science symposium will enhance international and intercultural communication and will integrate poster presentations into oral presentation sessions to increase one-on-one dialogue.  Presentations will focus on topics and issues from around the world, including: Climate Change, Marine Wilderness, Tourism, Community Conservation, Education, MesoAmerica and the Yucatan, Fire Management and much more!  The Call for Abstracts is now closed.  More information about the topics and sessions of the Science Symposium are forthcoming.  Contact Symposium@wild9.org for more information.

NATIVE LANDS AND WILDERNESS COUNCIL  

This 2nd Native Lands and Wilderness Council (NLWC) will focus on supporting and enhancing Indigenous management of Native lands.  The first NLWC met at the 8th World Wilderness Congress in Anchorage, Alaska 2005.  The 2nd NLWC will feature presentations and discussions of case studies from indigenous peoples from around the world on their approaches to management of native lands. In addition it will include an assessment of existing capacities, technical and financial needs and major challenges of indigenous peoples in the management of native lands.

WiLDSPEAK

WiLDSpeak is a Conservation Communications Symposium, lead by the iLCP.  It includes many sessions, workshops and meetings throughout WILD9 with many members of the iLCP in attendance, leading workshops, sitting on panels, exhibiting photography and presenting in plenary sessions.  During the concurrent afternoon sessions, iLCP will host sessions on photojournalism, collaboration, new media tools and more!  Learn more about WiLDSPEAK and enter your photographs for the 12 Shots exhibits.
