Celestun is located in the Goalf Coast of the Yucatan State. This coastal reserve and adjacent wetlands is host to 80% of the Caribbean (American) Flamingo population in the Yucatan Peninsula during the months from September through February. Coastal dunes, mangrove forest, flooded low tropical forest, dry tropical forest (one of the most endangered ecosystems worldwide), cenotes, and petenes (hummocks) with high tropical forest vegetation, are part of the vast diversity of habitats for birds and other wildlife in this magnificent coastal reserve just 50 miles away from Merida City.

Depart Merida at 5:00 AM and return by 7:00 PM
Includes transportation, lunch, boat tour, and entrance fees.
