WILD9 is working in alliance with Emerald Planet to offer a wide choice of tours that will allow our delegates, just as stated in our partners mission, use tourism as a conservation tool while providing visitors with authentic ecotourism experiences.
Emerald Planet was founded in 1995 on the principal of using tourism as a conservation tool in order generate measurable benefits to the protected areas visited and conservation organizations we work with in Latin America. By designing, planning and carrying out conservation-based tours, we can help generate revenue for protected areas and conservation organizations, we can help ensure positive economic benefits for local communities, and we can help teach about the on-the-ground realty of biodiversity conservation.

HACIENDA TOURS by Catherwood Travels

. Cenote Kankirixché 1 Day Pax.4 - 8 $450 US
Catherwood Travels is a tour operator in the Yucatan peninsula that offers personalized expeditions to two worlds, the Maya and the colonial - each as complex and fascinating as the other.

Our services include exclusive dining experiences, exploring nature, and adventures in seldom-visited locations.

Our personalized attention not only creates customized routes for our visitors, but also lets them select the areas that they wish to explore in depth during their visit. Our experts in art history, prehispanic and colonial history, archaeology, diving, and bird watching, among others, will transform the visits to Maya sites, colonial cities, and ecological reserves into an unequalled experience.

. Post - Congress 5 day Birding retreat for spoiled, savvy birders 5 days Pax.6 - 8 $1 450 US
Catherwood Travels has expanded its personalized tour operations in the Yucatan Peninsula to include expertly planned birding expeditions that take advantage of exclusive access to private properties and less-frequently visited sites.
Early morning bird walks take you to all habitats to see the local endemic and specialty birds with our expert, bilingual bird guide; and our picnic lunches are served on linen tablecloths amid the ruins of a colonial church or hacienda. An afternoon swim in the crystal-clear water of a private cenote prepares one for a renewed search for more exotic, tropical birds. We also do our best to accommodate the needs of serious photographers.
Our bird tours contribute directly to habitat conservation efforts in the region by using local services offered by Maya forest communities and coastal fishing villages. We also leave behind our bird lists and a conservation message.
