Latourelle’s commitment to the environment has resonated from Canada’s celebrated Gulf Islands to her spectacular Torngat Mountains and unique coastal regions near the Arctic Circle. As CEO of Parks Canada, he has overseen the creation of three new national parks to protect parts of these wilderness areas as well as spearheaded an agreement to establish a national marine conservation area in western Lake Superior.
El compromiso de Alan Latourelle con el medio ambiente ha resonado desde las célebres Islas del Golfo hasta los espectaculares Montes Torngat y las incomparables regiones costeras aledañas al Círculo Polar Ártico en Canadá. Como Director Ejecutivo de Parks Canada, Latourelle ha supervisado la creación de tres nuevos parques nacionales cuyo objetivo es proteger partes de las tierras silvestres de Canadá, así como encabezar un acuerdo para el establecimiento de un área nacional de conservación marina en la parte occidental del Lago Superior.

Olga Krever is an expert on protected areas and biodiversity conservation in Russia. From 2004-2008 she served as head of the Protected Areas Legislative Department and Deputy Head of the Department of State Policy on Environment of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation. From 2007 to the present, Olga serves as a member of the Upper Environmental Council of the Committee for Natural Resources, Nature Use and Ecological of the Russian Federal Parliament.
